Hello, I’m Rebecca Arenstein.
I am a tarot reader based in Tucson, Arizona.
I read with Thoth Tarot because the artwork is so evocative, and I love its modern adaptability.
I offer one-on-one tarot readings in person and online via email.
3 cards for $20 (USD)
10 cards for $50 (USD)
In-person readings take place by appointment at Dry River Witches Collective, 414 East 7th Street, Tucson, Arizona, 85705.
Why get a tarot reading?
Tarot readings can address a specific issue, or give you a general look at the forces at work around you.
The cards can show you what might be affecting you without your knowledge. Many times they give us a deeper look into ourselves, and the influence our subconscious minds have on our decision-making process.
We often consult the cards to ascertain the motivations of other people, but the cards will advise you on what to do regarding the only thing you can truly control or change—yourself.
Ultimately, the cards are a tool of self-reflection and growth. Have fun, but be sure to listen, and be ready to potentially hear some difficult truths. The cards don’t lie.
How do the cards work?
There are three main types of tarot cards: major arcana, minor arcana, and court cards.
The major arcana have titles like “The Fool” or “The Star.” These cards represent the largest scale forces within the universe, and our own lives. These are the forces that make and shape all of existence.
The minor arcana are the numbered cards within the four suits: wands, cups, swords, and disks. Each suit represents one element: fire, water, air, and earth. These cards reflect our psychological and emotional states, as well as the external stimuli that influence them. They show us the filters through which we see the world.
Court cards are the ones named for people: the Queen of Cups, the Prince of Disks, etc. These cards show us facets of ourselves and others. No one is as simple as one court card; we are all of them at one time or another. In a reading, these cards show us the sides of ourselves we bring out to handle certain problems and situations. They can show you hidden sources of strength that will help, or the parts of your shadow self that hinder.
Court cards may also describe the people in your life that have the strongest influence—your closest friends and family, loved ones who have passed on, or people who do not have the best intentions toward you.
What to expect from a reading
Readings take from 45 minutes to an hour. We begin with a short meditation to still the mind and relax the body. If you have a specific question, give some thought to the exact phrasing before we begin. Be specific, and never ask the cards what you should do. They aren’t concerned with that, but they will show you the outcome of a particular course of action.
If you don’t have a specific question, that’s okay—the cards will show you what you need to see. Do your best to keep a clear mind; you don’t need a specific question for the cards to pick up on what is having the strongest impact on your life.
Online readings are done via email. All you need to do is send me a short message via the contact form letting me know why you want a reading, and what you hope to achieve or learn. I will get back to you within two days to let you know if I can help you. If I can, I will perform the reading within three days and email you a written transcript with photos of your cards. Be sure to read the in-person section above, as it contains pertinent information as well.
